One Person Killed, Two Injured Early Wednesday in Southwest Valley Crash
A 35-year-old Las Vegas man tragically died, and two other people were injured early Wednesday, June 24th in the southwest Valley, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. The accident, the 45th traffic-related fatality of 2020 investigated by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, occurred just before 12:30 a.m. near South Durango Drive and West Patrick Lane.
According to the news report, a man was driving a 2005 Honda S2000 convertible southbound on Durango when it veered into the middle lane and struck a Volkswagen Jetta. Both cars slammed into a brick wall to the right of the roadway, and the Volkswagen rolled over and came to a stop upside down on top of the Honda. The driver of the Honda, the 35-year-old Las Vegas man, suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries, and a passenger in his vehicle, a 17-year-old girl, suffered moderate injuries.
It is unclear exactly what happened or who was responsible, based on the information provided in the news report. The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the accident and will issue a report with their determination of the sequence of events.
