Man Killed, Others Injured in Multi Vehicle Crash April 20th in East Las Vegas
A crash April 20th in East Las Vegas was the 29th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year, 8 News Now Las Vegas reported. The crash involved 10 cars and 16 people. A 69-year-old man tragically died and multiple other people involved in the crash suffered injuries ranging from minor to major.
According to police, the 69-year-old man was driving a 1993 Toyota Camry southbound on Lamb on Monday afternoon around 3:40 PM, approaching the intersection of East Sahara Avenue. For unknown reasons, he failed to stop and crashed into several other vehicles stopped at the intersection, including a 2017 Honda HRV. Both the man driving the Toyota and the driver of the Honda were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Trauma Center.
The driver of the Toyota died, and the driver of the Honda had serious injuries. Police were investigating the cause of the accident. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to all involved in this accident.
Nevada Multi Vehicle Crash Liability
Accidents like this one with so many vehicles can be difficult to investigate. It is much easier to determine fault and specifically what happened when there are just two vehicles involved. Actions can be attributed to one driver or another driver. When there are multiple vehicles involved, or up to 10 vehicles as we saw here, figuring out actions and liability can become much more complicated.
Did more than one party contribute? Some of the common causes of car accidents in Las Vegas are driver distraction, speeding, impairment from drugs or alcohol, or falling asleep at the wheel.
When accidents are caused by negligent or reckless actions of another driver, injured victims may be entitled to compensation for their accident related medical bills, lost earnings from being unable to work, pain and suffering and other damages. Especially in a multi-vehicle crash, it is important to not delay in seeking an attorney.
