Motorcyclist Killed After Downtown Vegas Crash
A motorcyclist was fatally injured in a head-on collision on July 9th near downtown Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported last Thursday.
The motorcycle driver ran a red light, fatally crashing into the side of a Buick Roadmaster and leaving the elderly driver with minor injuries. It is unclear exactly why this crash occurred, but it marks close to 50 traffic-related fatalities to be investigated by the Metro Police this year in what has become an unfortunately common occurrence. Although no further details were reported on the condition of the elderly woman injured in the crash, we wish her a swift recovery from this tragic event.
Traffic Injuries and Fatalities an All Too Common Occurrence
Despite lowered fatalities in traffic deaths in recent months due to coronavirus and lessened travel, motorcycle and motor vehicle accidents are still one of the most common causes of lasting injury and even death in Nevada. Drunk or intoxicated drivers, as well as those behaving in a reckless, distracted, or negligent manner, pose a large problem to the safety and health of the public, and oftentimes the police cannot catch or cite every single one of these problematic drivers.
If you’ve been injured in a car accident or are grieving the untimely loss of a loved one due to a negligent or irresponsible driver, you may be entitled to personal injury compensation to cover medical bills, time lost from work, and future wage loss due to injuries.
Personal Injury Claims in Nevada
Injuries from car accidents are not something that should be taken lightly, and if you have been hurt due to a driver’s negligence, you may be able to receive compensation that will help you to gain back your life. In order to recover this compensation, however, the victim of the accident must prove that the other driver acted in a way that did not exercise reasonable care. For instance, drunk driving and distracted driving are considered a failure to exercise this care, and even small things like texting and driving can lead to car accidents.
If you have been the victim of a car accident that left you with large medical bills and lost earnings, a trustworthy personal injury attorney can assist you filing a claim in order to recover financial compensation. Do not delay, however, as the statute of limitations on Nevada personal injury claims is 2 years, so any claims must be filed within that period of time.
